The Bistro K story began in Italy, where four brothers competed in the kitchen while growing grapes for family wine. These meals sparked a lifelong passion that led each brother across the world. One of them, Tony Bagatta, became a celebrated chef and hotel owner in South Africa, known for his skill and creativity, serving stars like Jerry Lewis and Neil Armstrong.

While leading a top Cape Town hotel, Tony met Massimiliana, an Italian businesswoman who soon became his wife. Together they raised their daughter, Katia, surrounded by family recipes and rich culinary traditions. In 1978, they moved to Southern California, where the Bagattas opened restaurants that earned loyal guests and local acclaim across Orange County.
